We will start with the fortified gate, which dates from the 14th century and marks the entrance to the medieval village. You can admire the coat of arms of Eze and the motto «Isis Moriendo Renascor» (I was reborn when I died).

Then we will head to the Place du Planet and the Château des Riquiers, which today houses the town hall and the local history museum. You can see remains of Eze’s past, such as tools, costumes, weapons and documents.

Continue to the chapel of the Holy Cross, the oldest chapel in the village, built in the 12th century by the white penitents. Admire the altarpiece of Sainte Croix, painted by Louis Bréa in 1515, as well as the frescoes and statues.

Then climb to the exotic garden, which offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the French Riviera. You can discover more than 400 species of succulent plants and cactus, as well as the sculptures of Jean-Philippe Richard representing goddesses.

We will end our visit with the church Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, built in the 18th century in a neoclassical style. Admire the facade made by the Italian architect Antoine Spinelli, as well as the square bell tower and sundial.

We will meet at the fortified gate, the only entrance to the village of Eze. I would be there with a black and red backpack, brandishing my «Esplouratour» sign.
